Our Story

MOKSHA FINE WOVENS is the creation of Juhi Kilachand, who moved from India to New York City in 2000. A food scientist by training, she decided to leave her ‘fast track’ career and follow her passion for textiles, design and color and thus established MOKSHA Fine Wovens - traditionally woven fabrics with a contemporary look.

MOKSHA Fine Wovens started as a simple collection of Jaquard shawls at a time when the American woman was looking for something more than a plain ‘pashmina.’ What began as a range of shawls and stoles, soon became the ‘most colorful and eclectic’ range of women’s wraps in the fashion industry. From Madison Avenue in New York City to Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, the MOKSHA shawl can and has been instantly recognized.

The consumate quality and look of the fabrics soon lent themselves to a range of jackets and within a short span of 2 years, the MOKSHA Jacket has established itself with as distinctive a look as its MOKSHA shawl predecessor.

Located at the foothills of the Himalayas, in northern India, the Moksha manufacturing facilities specialize in weaving and finishing products made from the best quality Australian fine Merino, Mongolian cashmere, Chinese silk, Indian Mercerized Cotton and Fine Linen.

Today, our weaving facilities can accommodate the most demanding orders. With over 200 employees, ISO 9001:2000 certification, and a manufacturing base that uses both handlooms and state-of-the-art shuttle-less looms with electronic jumbo jacquards, MOKSHA fine wovens has the flexibility and range to cater to high and low volume requirements.

We welcome you to explore the wonderful of MOKSHA fine wovens and look forward to working with you.
